Spring is in the air people! So is an enormous amount of pollen...but I'll deal. It is a wonderful 90 degrees outside today and I could not be more excited. So excited in fact that I feel the need to bring flowers to our home. I hear you all snickering. It's no secret that my green thumb is more on the black side.
Let's just say plants are not my thing. I think they're pretty, but I can't take care of them. The feeling people get about bringing a puppy home? Yea that's how I feel about bringing a plant home. I'd take ten new puppies over a potted plant any day.
So I have been on the hunt for all things flowery lately. Thanks to Etsy I came up with a few ideas.
I have been trying to decide on what color to work into our living room. Our walls are beige and with one tan sofa and one blue sofa, it hasn't been the easiest decision. Never would I have thought of red. But I LOVE this pillow courtesy of LittleJoobieBoo.
How adoreable are all of these patterned clothespins that have been popping up lately? Has anyone else noticed a sudden surge of them or is it just me? Anyway, I love these floral ones from CCNdesigns.
If I can't set flowers on the table, I'll hang them on the wall! How gorgeous is this Hydrangea watercolor? I'm a sucker for any flower in bunches right now...Chrysanthemum's are another favorite. And for just $20 from pineapplebaystudio, how can I say no to this little pop of color? My thing with art is why does it matter who painted it or its worth? If you like it, get it. If it's a $5 print from Walmart that screams "TAKE ME HOME!" then do it.
The last thing I came across were air plants. "But wait, isn't that the whole reason for all of the other things, is to not have plants?" Why yes, yes it is. However these air plants only need to be watered once a week. Plus, it's like AirPlantStudio is aware of the flocks of us plant killers that exist. These little guys have magnets on their shells and can be attached to the fridge! I use the water dispenser on our fridge at least three times a day. I might actually be able to look at the plants staring at me in the face and think to water them this way! Location, location, location people.
So there you have it, great ways to bring flowers in your home without committing heinous plant killing crimes. Also, no pollen. If that's not a win win I don't know what is.
