I FINALLY have a countdown for Chandler's arrival. At my doctor appointment Wednesday she scheduled me to be induced on April 4th. If I haven't had him already....which I doubt. Less than a week to go! It's crazy to think that next weekend we will be a family of four. There are so many different feelings going on. Of course I am not particularly looking forward to the whole labor thing. At the same time, I realize that it will just be for one day and it will completely be worth it.
Carson is beyond excited and ready for him to be here. We told her that he will be here by Friday (I went past midnight when I was induced last time), but I'm not sure if she realizes exactly what that entails. I just cannot wait for her to meet him. It's very possible that I am more excited for her to meet him than I am. I know she is going to be a great big sister and it just confirms for me that waiting so long in between them was a good idea. Actually, it wasn't the plan all along but it worked out pretty great. She talks about teaching him CONSTANTLY and I will make every effort to make sure she doesn't get frustrated because he can't say ABC straight out of the womb.
The house is coming along slowly but surely. I managed to get four curtains hemmed and hung last night. Also spent about 4 hours making a photo album online yesterday full of our maternity pictures. I can't wait to see how it comes out! Vernon sanded and stained a pallet that we found and we plan to hang that today in the dining room and create a shelf. Found the idea on pinterest of course from The Domestic Doozie's blog:
It really goes with the whole home-y feel. As our little projects get checked off it's a great feeling. I just wish that we weren't on a time crunch. Not being 10 months pregnant would probably make things a little easier too. The father in law and fam are coming down the 12th-19th to visit and meet Chandler. There is going to be a whole lot of chaos going on with a new baby and having family stay with us for a week right afterwards. That's why we (mostly Vernon) want to get everything done prior to that. Here's a little list of things on our to-do list:
- Hang up pallet
- Decorate pallet
- Hang up picture frames
- Order new pictures to swap out of some frames (waiting on discount codes to appear)
- Hang up gallery wall
- Paint trim on Carson's bookshelf
- Finish hemming & hanging curtains
- Get office organized & decorated
