Kate & Emily

When Kate asked me if I knew of any sunflower fields in the area, I knew
the perfect place. Bergey's Breadbasket has all things fall, including
sunflowers bigger than your head. Plus there's pie. Seriously amazing
apple crumb pie. We had a beautiful day for our session and we took full
advantage of it...stopping at every pretty spot they have. Kate is good
friends with my mother in law, so we've known each other for a long
time. But we really hit it off this summer after spending one evening on
my MIL's back porch with a few friends and a few Lime-A-Rita's. Good
times were had. She was one of the first people to contact me about a
session, and I am super grateful for that. This session was super laid back and also involved roosters, goats, cows and donkeys. We dodged bees in the sunflower field. It was a great time. I'm still amazed at how smooth my sessions go. My goal is to keep everything relaxed so that we get great shots, not forced shots. These two made that easy...as pie (sorry I had to). Seriously, do you see these
two? Emily is a little model. She had us cracking up the whole time and
did SO well with the whole session. Her model looks were amazing. You'll see those in this post.

Morgan & Emma

Morgan and I worked long, wonderful treacherous days at
Longhorn Steakhouse in Florida for years together. She is actually from
the Hampton Roads area. It always surprised me how many people we met
in Florida that were either from here or had been here. Morgan came up
for a family visit last week and I knew I HAD to get some sunny pictures
of her and Emma. Seriously, babies in giant shells and Morgan's
perfectly blonde hair? Yea, this had to happen. Wouldn't you know we
probably ended up picking the windiest day ever to do a session at the
beach. It was wild out there. Emma was NOT having it unless her mama was
holding her =] We also went across the street to get some more fall-y type shots. Those gorgeous tall grasses are one of my favorite things ever. I am still so surprised at how much she looked right at
me. The handful of smiles that she gave us didn't come easy (they usually don't with the little ones), but oh are they SO worth the patience required. She also gave the most perfectly timed little coos or squeals when we said things to her or asked her something. It was hilarious. I'm telling you, babies know the secrets of the universe. I think they know everything we are saying. Emma did such a good job! She worked that camera =]
